A tornado watch has expired for New Jersey but gusty winds will continue to bring down wires and heavy showers cause minor flooding.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center says lightning, hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible for into the early hours of Wednesday. Late Tuesday afternoon a line of  heavy storms was moving southwest to northeast.

Wind gusts ripped a facade from a tattoo shop on the Wildwood boardwalk Tuesday morning.

The storms so far have caused some minor flooding and winds that have brought down some trees and limbs.

There are 2 hour delays at the area airports.

JCP+L has over 21,000 customers without power on its outage map at 4PM mostly in Monmouth, Ocean, Morris and Middlesex counties.

PSE+G has several thousand customers offline in its service area according to their outage map with Mount Laurel, Deptford and Edison hardest hit.

 


 

Meanwhile, The Record newspaper reports the top of an old oak tree landed on the roof of a home in Ridgewood.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. along the Delaware River.
