According to authorities, Kohl's loss prevention officers in their Route 37 West store, at about 5:40 PM on July 1, caught the suspect in the men's department pulling clothes off racks and stuffing them in bags.

He strolled past the registers and out the door without paying, at which point security staffers approached, and he tossed the bags and ran off empty-handed, police said.

The merchandise was valued in total at $539.

Toms River Police are asking if you recognize the man captured in the surveillance image. Private messages can be left on their Facebook page. Detective Roger Hull will accept tips confidentially at 732-349-0150, extension 1291.
