Toms River Police Seek Robbery Suspects

Toms River police are asking for the public's help as they search for two robbery suspects.

Investigators say Michael Bowerman, 32, of Secaucus, approached a 76-year-old Whiting woman from behind as she was putting her bags into her car in the Walmart parking lot Friday evening.  That's when he allegedly tore a gold necklace from her neck and fled on foot across Route 37. Police say Bowerman has not yet been apprehended, but they believe he has many ties to Toms River and the Ocean County area.

A second white male was spotted with Bowerman on the store's surveillance tape and is also wanted for questioning.  If you can identify him or have any information regarding the case, you're asked to contact the Toms River Police Department at 732-349-0150 ext. 1002 or Detective Steve Bucci at ext. 1300.
