A twenty-four year old man from Toms River was arrested after officers responded to a hit and crash and followed a fluid trail to the vehicle leading them to the driver.

Officer Worth responded just before 3 AM Saturday morning to a hit and run crash in the area of Maine Street and Jonquil Lane which is in the Silverton section of Toms River.

Dispatch had been informed that a white pickup truck struck several parked cars and then left eastbound on Maine Street.

A significant fluid trail as well as gouging in the asphalt led officers to the pickup and ultimately Vincent Soriano, who was charged with DWI, DWI through a School Crossing and Reckless Driving.

Officer Marsicano assisted the investigation and issued Soriano summonses related to the crash. No injuries were sustained.

Charges are accusations only. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
