Toms River Police Arrest Teen for Car Burglaries

A 17 year old male is charged with burglary and theft after a TR resident caught a video of the suspect entering a vehicle earlier in the week.

Chief Mike Mastronardy says the boy was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Friday morning near Rt. 35 and Strickland Blvd. in Chadwick Beach.

Investigating officers recognized the juvenile as a possible suspect in a rash of recent thefts from unlocked cars in the North Beach area of the Township.

The name of the suspect is not being released because the boy is a juvenile.  Police say he does not live in the town.

Police have recovered 10 GPS, 2 apple IPODS, a cannon camera, 3 knifes, 4 flashlights, a box of Mrs. Palmers surf wax, and a Long Board skate board.

Det. Randy Petrick is leading a follow-up investigation and returning the property to victims of over a dozen thefts that occurred last week.
