After a week-long investigation, authorities determined 52-year-old Michael Guerino of the Silver Ridge section of Berkeley, allegedly burglarized six businesses between February 7 and 14 by breaking out the front windows and ransacking them for valuables and cash.

Guerino was taken into custody on February 16 at his home, and while executing a search warrant, authorities said some of the stolen items were discovered. Other items seized from the home also were connected to two burglaries on February 14, committed at the "Oh, What a Bagel" in Bayville and the "B&B Party Store" in Lakewood, according to police.

Guerino was being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $125,000 bail. Additional charges are pending, according to authorities.

The investigation was led by the Detective Bureau Burglary “West” Unit, with the assistance of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit, as well as the Berkeley Township and Lakewood Township Detective Bureaus.
