A Toms River man faces five years in prison for taking over $6,200 from Superstorm Sandy victims in Rumson to install a generator but failing to deliver. A Monmouth County Grand Jury indicted 51-year-old Mark Herrneckar on third degree Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property charges.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office allege that on December 2013 Herrneckar received a $6,200 check for delivery and installation of a home generator at a Rumson residence but never delivered the generator and failed to return the money to the homeowner.

Herrneckar was arrested in December by members of the Monmouth County Superstorm Fraud Task Force. He's currently free on $5,000 bail.

The Monmouth County Superstorm Sandy Fraud Task Force continues to investigate all storm-related complaints. They encourage citizens to report complaints to www.SandyFraud.com or call the hotline at (855) SANDY 39.
