Toms River Man Charged After Threatening Woman In His Apartment

A Toms River man remains behind bars after allegedly threatening a woman with a hand gun inside his apartment. 29-year-old Jesse Smith is accused of assaulting the Manchester resident, who went to to his apartment in Briar Knolls to collect $1700 she loaned him according to the Ocean County Police Blotter Facebook page.

The woman fled unharmed. Police found the handgun. He's being held on $200,000 bail and charged with Smith was charged with simple assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon by a felon.
