Toms River Kiddie Porn Suspect Masked IP Address, Investigators Say

A Toms River man stands accused of spreading child pornogrpahy on the Internet and altering his IP address to conceal his actual location.

Michael J. Peluso, 44, is charged with possession and distribution of images of children under age 18, engaged in prohitibed sex acts, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

County authorities were alerted by police in Glendalle Heights, Illinois, who were conducting a separate Internet child porn probe.

A detective determined that masking software allowed Peluso to appear situated in Illinois while operating in Toms River, authorities said. That let to notification to the county High Tech Crime Unit.

A search of Peluso's South Street dwelling yielded hundreds of kiddie porn images, investigators said.

Peluso's bail was set at $75,000, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
