An investment advisor from Wall Township with an office in Toms River is accused of stealing at least $75,000 from clients, and Ocean County investigators think there might be more victims than they currently know.

Peter M. Martorana, 59, was arrested Wednesday at his home while detectives bearing search warrants pored through his house and his Retirement Benefit Specialists office on Jamaica Boulevard in Toms River.

Authorities in county Prosecutor Joseph Coronato's office suspect Martorana of using investor funds for his personal gain for four years. He was charged with theft and sent to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. His bail was set at $75,000 with not option for release on payment of 10 percent.

If you, or someone you know, conducted investment business or gave investment money to Peter Martorana or to Retirement Benefit Specialists, contact the Prosecutor's office and speak to Detective James Conroy, 732-929-2027, extension 4362.

Also involved in the investigation are members of Coronato's High-Tech Crimes Unit and police in Berkeley and Wall Townships.
