A fire at a home on Oak Glen Road in Toms River Monday around 11:57 am is under investigation.

Police were informed by the resident that she noticed smoke coming from the upstairs part of the home and immediately fled to safety.

She did not suffer any injuries.

Responding emergency crews found smoke blowing out of the garage and roof line of the home.

Investigators believe the fire began in the garage and was contained primarily to that area but the origin of the blaze is currently unknown.

Toms River Fire Departments #1, #2, East Dover, Silverton, and Pleasant Plains arrived and were able to quickly bring the situation under control before any flames could spread to the main living area.

The Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention along with the Toms River Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau are conducting the investigation.
