As WOBM's local sports guru Kevin Williams told us about earlier today, it's been a good few days for Ocean County baseball players.

Yesterday, in the first round of the Major League Baseball player draft, both Barnegat (Jason Groome) and Jackson Memorial (Matt Thaiss) have been represented.

Today, Toms River got their due as High School North's Joey Rose got called by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the fifth round of the draft this afternoon.

The draft continues through tomorrow and there are still a number of New Jersey high schoolers and college players who could be starting their Major League careers soon.
