Do you know all those signs up hanging along the wall or fence at parks and other venues in Toms River? Well, they'll be more after township officials announce a new advertising deal.

Web Alliance International Agency, located in the office building next to the Men's Wearhouse on Hooper Avenue, was awarded the contract to be the exclusive advertising vendor for Toms River.

"It was a request for proposal," said Tom Forgione, Marketing Director for Web Alliance. "They (Toms River Township) put it out to bid and we bid on it and got the job."

He says a percentage of the income on sales from the advertising will go to the township.

"They'll receive a 20-percent cut on top of the gross and we pay all of our people and do the rest," said Forgione.

He says the rates for ads have been made affordable for small businesses who want some publicity. Business operators thinking of banners and related items for their marketing strategies can learn more at tomsriveradvertising.com

One of their main focuses is to help place banners advertising small businesses across toms river.

Forgione says there are some companies you'll see but not others.

"We have a prohibited list of companies that we can't go after, such as alcohol, tobacco, firearms...those kinds of things," said Forgione.

He says the town's signs will be put up in the best spots.

"We just make sure that it's appropriate for the venue, and the materials that we're using will be accommodating to the sections that they're in," said Forgione.

He says they'll be sure to make sure nothing offensive will be made into an advertisement at any town parks or properties.

Ads will be placed on a number of township properties including the Veterans Softball Complex, the township swimming pool, by a number of parks, playgrounds and Winding River Skating Park, Bea Lea golf course and the Ortley Beach boardwalk.
