It wasn't a great way to ring in the new year for three jersey college-age kids who were arrested for allegedly throwing an off-campus party near Monmouth University January 1.

Police responded to a report of 2 people passed out on the front lawn from intoxication at 58 Monmouth Drive around 1:30 am.

Two people at the party needed to be transported to the hospital due to being severely intoxicated.

There were also multiple people under the legal age consuming alcohol at the party, according to Deal Police.

The three who are accused of throwing the party and allowing underage drinking have all been charged.

Annmarie Wexler, 21, of Bergenfield, New Jersey and Tia Romeo, 22, of Hazlet, New Jersey are charged with maintaining a nuisance and serving/making available alcohol to underage persons.

Jarrett Kennedy, 20, of Indian Mills, New Jersey is charged with a borough ordinance violation for underage consumption of alcohol.

All parties were released on scene pending a court date.
