From Fairhope, Alabama to Jackson, Wyoming, one publication must have collected an awful lot of frequent flyer miles in their quest to find the prettiest town in every state.

Architectural Digest took on the assignment to travel the country in search of every single state's most picturesque community.

They identified some well known destinations like Annapolis, Maryland, and also some off the beaten path gems like Friday Harbor, Washington.

Two of our neighboring states have towns within an easy drive from Ocean County; with New Hope taking the prize for Pennsylvania, and Delaware's Rehoboth Beach getting a shout out, too.

So, what about New Jersey?

Cape May was given the honor for the Garden State.

The publication gushes about the, "...true shore town" and its well known "gingerbread trimmed Victorian homes".
