This past weekend a sale caught my eye, wireless Bluetooth speakers were on sale at a warehouse club. I used to have one that I used a good bit over the summer when I was outdoors, but the charger got lost, so I went ahead and got a Jawbone Mini Jambox. When I got home, I was stunned.

When it comes to audio, I'm a little bit of a geek. I feel like audio quality is one of those things where you really get what you pay for. If you buy cheap headphones, you'll get junky sound.

Considering what I do for a living, I've always been willing to pay for quality when it comes to audio.

I see it like a chef and his knives - you have to have the right tools for the job, and you have to be comfortable with the tools that you're using.

When I got the Mini Jambox home and turned it on, the first thing that I noticed was the boot-up sound - the bass was so deep and resonant that I could feel it in my hand, When I hooked it up to my phone, I couldn't believe the sound that was being pumped out of a speaker the size of a pencil case (for those of us who remember pencil cases).

It also has a setting called "LiveAudio", which pans the audio channels to create what they describe as "3D sound". With the right music, it literally sounds like you're wearing headphones instead of sitting in front of a speaker.

I can't recommend it enough. If you're someone who appreciates high quality, crisp, clean, and deep audio, it is absolutely worth spending the money on a Mini Jambox.
