As I was going through some unique coins that I've collected over the years, I found this pair of silver slugs that anyone who's lived in New Jersey for more than about 10 years will immediately recognize - Garden State Parkway toll tokens.

Anybody who drove the Parkway up until the last decade or so, certainly had one of the familiar orange and green striped rolls in their center console or change compartment.

Heck, I remember when the value of the tokens was a measly $0.35.

Oh, how times (and toll prices) have changed!

And, along with the extinction of the Parkway tokens, there are plenty of other things that have disappeared, or mostly disappeared, in the Garden State.

From drive-in movie theaters (the only one left in NJ is the Delsea Theatre in Vineland), to Roy Rogers restaurants (the Bayville location and a handful of Turnpike rest stop outlets are the last vestiges) there are plenty of once ubiquitous things in New Jersey that you just don't see much anymore.

What are some that you can think of? Comment below and share your memories!
