Misbranding and undeclared allergens force the recall of 32,228 pounds of the popular Thin 'n Trim chicken sausage.

Massachusetts-based Demakes Enterprises, Inc., initiated the recall of its buffalo-style chicken sausage that reached New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and Ohio, in addition to Massachusetts. The products contain milk, which isn't disclosed on the labels.

The US Department of Agriculture said that the discrepancy surfaced during routine label verification steps.There have been no reports of adverse reactions.

The recalled packs are 10-ounce, vacuum-sealed, containing five pieces of "Thin 'n Trim Fully Cooked Chicken Sausage Buffalo Style." Use-by dates extend from May 17 to December 6 of this year. The establishment number P-8891 is inside the USDA inspection seal.

USDA advises shoppers who bought the products to either discard them or return them to the stores where they were purchased. Andrew demakes, the company's sales and production manager, has availed himself to answer questions, 781-471-1127.
