Ok, so nobody in the Garden State won the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot, that honor goes to a single winner in South Carolina, who presumably is currently in self-imposed exile and pinching themselves over and over again, but hundreds of New Jersey players won $500 or more last night.

There were two tickets sold in New Jersey worth $1 million. Those were dispensed in Lindenwold and Deptford.

In addition, Ocean County sold a pair of $10,000 winners, bought at the Circle K in Manahawkin and Plaza Wines & Liquor in Jackson.

And there were nearly 400 tickets that matched 4 of the 5 white balls, winning $500.

It's super easy to check your tickets these days, too.

The NJ Lottery app has an option to scan your ticket's bar code right from your phone's camera. So, no more mental gymnastics while trying to figure out if your lotto ticket is a $2 or $3 piece of confetti or a million dollar pay day.

(You could also argue that it takes some of the fun out of scratch-offs, but that's a separate debate.)

So definitely check those Mega Millions tickets before throwing them out!

Hey, 328,594,189 of us might not be brand new billionaires, but a couple hundred bucks never hurts!
