The School Spirit Contest Mid Week Roundup

Once again Ocean County never fails to amaze me with the passion that we have for our home and our schools. We are now in Round 3 of our Ocean County school spirit competition, and the results at midweek are pretty interesting.

As of this writing, nearly 3,500 votes have been cast for our four semi-finalist schools.

So let's take a look at where we stand right now:

Toms River South vs. Central Regional
To put it lightly, Central Regional supporters are passionate! Right out of the gate, the voting started like gangbusters. As of right now, Central Regional is holding a commanding 40% lead over Toms River South.

Toms River East vs. Manchester Township
I don't know if Toms River East supporters are resting on their laurels after winning Mascot Madness back in the spring, but if they want to win back to back competitions, they have to get out the vote! As of right now, Manchester Township is leading TR East by 22%

What Does It All Mean?

If we were to close voting right now, the final matchup would be Central Regional vs. Manchester Township.

But, we still have the rest of this week and the weekend before we declare our two finalists to go head to head for the title of best school spirit in Ocean County.

It's all going to come down to who can mobilize their fans the best and get out the vote. Both Toms River schools have hills to climb to overtake the lead, so in these next few days I suspect that we'll see either a flurry of votes that will pull the matchups closer, or the schools that are ahead will open up even bigger leads that may be insurmountable.
