It's one of the worst feelings in the world - that feeling that slowly overtakes your body until you break out in cold sweats and a wave of nausea rises. No, I'm not talking about watching the new presidency (I kid!), I'm talking about the flu.

If you're deep in the throes of it right now, if nothing else you can take comfort in the fact that you're not alone.

In fact, not only are you not alone, but you're in quite a bit of company. As of this week, New Jersey is experiencing very high flu activity.

According to the CDC, large swaths of the country, including the Northeast, are experiencing "Severe" flu activity.

Of course, you can still get a flu shot. And if you haven't gotten the flu yet this season, it's a really good idea to do so.

However, the flu shot won't help you with some of the other bugs that are going around, including a nasty stomach bug (which isn't actually a type of flu, despite the "stomach flu" misnomer) that anecdotally is also going around our area.

So get that flu shot, keep the hand sanitizer nearby, take your vitamins, and drink lots of water!

Have you been hit with the flu, a stomach bug, or a bad cold yet this winter? Feel free to commiserate in the comments section!
