The Big Guns Are Out At The Joint Base This Weekend

If you've lived in the area around Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for a while, you're probably already used to the signature sounds of artillery training.

Well, for the next couple of days, even the routine training may sound tame compared to what they've got going on at the moment.

On their official Facebook page, the Joint Base is giving the public the heads up that the big guns are out, we're talking mortars and Howitzer cannons:

If you've become accustomed to the training that goes on at the base on a fairly regular basis, even you may be taken aback by the resounding booms coming out of the Pine Barrens this weekend.

And remember, overcast weather will make it sound even louder and travel further than usual.
