Texas man arrested after NJ boy sent 20 pics of his privates, police say

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — A Texas man was arrested at a hotel where he thought he was going to meet a 12-year-old boy from this New Jersey township.

In a probable cause affidavit posted by DallasNews.com, the boy's parents found "inappropriate messages" including a picture of a male penis on his Skype account and notified Freehold Township police.

The boy was interviewed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and told detectives, according to the affidavit, they connected while playing the online game Minecraft in 2015 and talked for about a month until his parents found out in February.

The boy said he and the man, identified as Keith David Fenstermacher, 47, of Murphy, Texas, asked the boy to send pictures of his penis, which he said he did 20 times.

Fenstermacher also asked the boy to masturbate during their Skype sessions but the boy found it "uncomfortable." Fenstermacher sent the boy similar pictures and videos.

Fenstermacher told the boy he was an electrical engineer and had two children close in age to him.

Right before police were contacted, Fenstemacher told the boy he would be in the Freehold area for a hockey game and wanted to meet. The boy said no but told him he may be in Texas.

Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Charles Webster said his office contacted the Colin County, Texas Sheriff's Department as they are both part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

According to the Sheriff's Department Facebook page, investigators led Fenstemacher to believe the boy was coming to Texas and arrested him at a hotel where he showed up for their meeting. The affidavit said Fenstemacher was charged with solicited sexual contact by a child younger than 14, a second-degree felony under Texas law.

CBS Dallas reported Fenstemacher, who worked with the Boy Scouts, was suspended from having any further involvement with the program.

Fenstemacher was released after posting $25,000 bond, accordng to the report.

Minecraft was one of the online games and apps that the New Jersey State Police warned parents about during a special New Jersey 101.5 town hall on child predators.
