US News and World Report put together a list of the Best High Schools in the country. A number of New Jersey schools made the rankings, including 31 with gold medals, 36 with silver medals and 42 with bronze medals. You can find out how they came up with the rankings here.

- Union County Magnet High School, Scotch Plains (134th nationally)
- Middlesex County Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies, Edison (167th nationally)
- Elizabeth High School, Elizabeth (183rd nationally)
- Academy of Allied Health and Science, Neptune (189th nationally)
- Princeton High School, Princeton (192nd nationally)
