Many families have precious keepsakes and heirlooms that are passed down through generations. What heirlooms are in your family that you hold dear to your heart?

The clock in the picture above is a gorgeous table top clock that my great grandfather gave to my great grandmother for their wedding. On the bottom, it has a handwritten date of 1910. My mother also believes that my great grandfather had it regilded for their 50th wedding anniversary in 1960.

My mother remembers it from when she was a little girl growing up in Wisconsin, and her grandfather had told her that one day it would be hers.

It had been lost track of for quite a number of years, but then a few years ago, it popped back up. My mother had it sent here to NJ, where she lives now, and it is proudly displayed in her home.

It's a simple and beautiful reminder of family members who are no longer with us, and of the types of things that were given as gifts over 100 years ago.

So what are some of the precious and meaningful heirlooms in your family? Tell us in the comments!
