According to authorities, the stabbing was reported around 8:30 PM on the 200 block of Sawmill Road. That's where officers found the bleeding teen.

Responding officers summoned township emergency medical staffers and MONOC paramedics to rush the youth to the trauma unit at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Investigators believe that the stabbing was triggered by a fight involving people trying to drive away from the Maple Leaf complex. The vehicle was spotted a short while later on Alexander Avenue in the township's Herbertsville section.

Police say that interviews among those involved are continuing, but a suspect has yet to be identified.

They're also asking anyone with information that might help the probe to call Brick PD Detective Michael Feeney: 732-262-4611.
