Toms River Police have made an arrest in their investigation into the church thief who allegedly grabbed cash from a donation box at the Christ Episcopal Church on Washington Street and fled September 4.

When you live in Ocean County, traffic is a common topic. We have our annoying traffic patterns, our bad intersections, and just plain irritating roads. But we also have plenty of roads where the traffic lights are the cause of consternation.

Just last week we told you about the new park that we can look forward to in downtown Toms River. If you've passed the area in the last few days, you'll notice that progress is being made pretty quickly.

Most of us remember the devastating fire that tore through half a block of businesses in downtown Toms River in the Spring of last year. The buildings were beyond repair, and were torn down only a few months later. Since then, downtown denizens have had to pass an empty patch of dirt every day. Well, that will soon be changing.

Have you been to Downtown Toms River lately? The addition of new restaurants and businesses is attracting lots of foot traffic, according to Bill Golkiewicz, Executive Director of the Downtown Toms River Business Improvement District (BID).

A Mount Holly man is accused of bludgeoning his girlfriend and her father to death inside the Washington Street home where they all lived, announced Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Mount Holly Police Chief Thomas F. Mastrangelo.

Last week we shared with you a video of the demolition work that was being done on the fire damaged buildings on Robbins Street in downtown Toms River. If you've been in the area this week, you've probably noticed the new gaping hole at the corner of Robbins Street and Washington Street.

Thirteen years later, Toms River Fire Company Number One paid homage to fellow first responders and civilians killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks during an Anniversary Remembrance downtown, at the corner of Washington and Robbin's Streets.

The area around an air conditioner in a downtown Toms River building is suspected as the likely point of origin for the fire that lit it up in the middle of the night.
