First there was hurricane Sandy last week, then Jersey was belted by a nor'easter last night - and hundreds of thousands of Garden State residents remain without power.
Last year, New Jersey was hammered by Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee and a freak October ice storm that caused widespread and prolonged power outages throughout the state.
Roughly 1.7 million New Jerseyans remain without power today. Governor Chris Christie says the Garden State has never seen a storm as devastating as Sandy so the standard rules for full power restoration do not apply.
New Jersey utilities are getting ready in the event Hurricane Sandy slams the state. Forecasters say the storm is expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds and flooding.
Obviously the biggest story of the week has been the heat wave that we're currently in, with some temperatures inland even flirting with 100. When I asked you yesterday how you handle the heat, I think one of our listeners had the best response:
It's no secret, we all know it's hot (in fact, if I see another picture of someone's dashboard thermometer on Facebook, I might scream), but how do you handle the heat?
When moving to a new house, there have always been two things you needed to do right away - change your mailing address and get your new phone number. A lot of people aren't doing that second step anymore.
