Tony Awards

I remember when we first played Josh Groban on the air here at WOBM.  I think it was early 2001 when Shawn and I played "You Raise Me Up."  The general consensus was that that guy had an amazing voice, unlike any we had ever played before...

This year's telecast of the Tony Awards featured wonderful tributes to classic Broadway musicals.  Going into commercial breaks we saw casts from currently running shows singing numbers from  "Phantom of the Opera," "Guys & Dolls," "Cabaret," "The Lion King," and "Rent," among others. ...

It's definitely the most popular show on Broadway right now. It's breaking all kinds of records for sales, and it's already won a Pulitzer Prize. Tomorrow night the show has 16 nominations for the 2016 Tony Awards. Tickets, however, have been hard to come by for fans. Sunday will be a rare chance for fans to get tickets to the show as 2017 dates for the show will go on sale.

Congratulations to Lin-Manuel Miranda and his cast of the Broadway hit, 'Hamilton.' The musical received a whopping 16 Tony Award nominations.
