As I've reflected on the iPhone 5 review that I wrote earlier, I kept coming back to the same theme in my mind and decided to try to do something about it. So I thought I'd write an open letter to Apple's CEO, Tim Cook:

Apple's newest gadget has been out for about a week and a half now, and I've had a bit of time to play with one. If you'd like some insight into why I chose to upgrade to the iPhone 5, click here for my previous iPhone article. In the meantime, here are my early thoughts:

When you tweet something or post something on Facebook it's out there in cyber-space forever and the potential for damage is everywhere, but not every kid gets that.

Apple has finally released pre-sales figures, previously all we knew was that they sold out their pre-sale stock within an hour. But for all we knew, they only had 100 to sell. But I can take off my cyniccal hat, they say that they pre-sold 2 million units in the first 24 hours (although that still doesn't tell us what the original physical stock was that sold out in that first hour).

We've been telling you about the growing trend of employers demanding Facebook passwords from potential employees.

Love them, or hate them, one thing can't be denied - Apple has epic legions of fans. You've seen the lines outside of Apple Stores when products first come out. Maybe you've experienced the website crashes when trying to secure a gadget of your own, but today they hit an epic level of fandom.

A rumor about the cost of the new iPhone has drawn outrage from technophiles.

I don't know what I would do without my TiVo DVR. Seriously. I've talked before about how it's amazing when we think about today's technology, and how quickly we've gotten to depend on it, and I think that the DVR needs to be included in that.
