The former Toms River Regional Superintendent accused of taking million in bribes has plead guilty to corruption and tax evasion charges.

The onetime insurance broker for the Toms River Regional School district today admitted his role in a bribery scheme that funneled millions of dollars to former Superintendent Michael Ritacco.

A federal judge has set an April 9 trial date for  former Toms River's schools superintendent accused of corruption.

Many public officials work tirelessly and selflessly for the good of the communities they serve. Many have been honored by having facilities named after them while they're still alive. Sometimes, though, it doesn't work out so well, as we ourselves here in Ocean County know all too well.

The New Jersey School Board briefs the Toms River Regional School Policy Committee on what to do during the upcoming trial of its former Superintendent.
