If you've given into temptation and done something you vowed not to do, it doesn't mean you're a loser or a failure. It just means you had a slip and hopefully will try harder next time.

It's the first day of Lent and my friend is using this time to try to give up smoking for good.  I really hope he's able to kick the habit!  I've had smokers in my family and know that quitting is not easy.  But we all know the health benefits that come from quitting so I'm really routing for him and all of YOU who might be trying to give up tobacco...

Having moved around quite a bit in my adult life, I've seen what feels like dozens of traditions for today. When I lived in New England, the break room at work was filled with Pączkis. We were inundated with Fastnachts when I lived in Central PA. And apparently in The UK they eat pancakes (who knew??).
