If you're self-employed, you can probably take your laptop outside and do your work on the deck, right? Or if you're officially "on the clock" today but are allowed to telecommute, you can be productive yet take as much time outdoors as you like! Enjoy the nice mild temps today!

What I thought would be a temporary pit stop led to my settling in and calling Ocean County home. Instead of jetting off to Baltimore, Philly, or Boston (some cities I thought I might like to move to), I happily made Jersey my home. I'm grateful for the serendipitous meeting which led to an impromptu interview. I'm grateful that Shawn turned out to be an awesome partner and the station was filled with people I loved working with every day. And I'm grateful to have made a living doing two things I love, talking and playing music.

People who have family businesses, co-workers who met on the job and then got married...I'm sure there are many people who have to define some boundaries when it comes to working with loved one. And I'm sure there are also couples who don't have any trouble spending 24/7 together. So let's hear from those of you who own or work in an Ocean County business with family members. Do you share a work space with a spouse? What are the Pros? What are the Cons?

It's National Teacher Appreciation Day so we are honoring those of you who teach our kids every day.  I hope your students are on their best behavior today!  Even if they're acting up, and not giving gifts or thanks, I hope you know what an important role you're playing in their lives...

That's the title of a catchy song but also what many people feel like telling their boss.  Are you one of them?  Are you in a dead-end job, or feeling like you should be doing something else for a living? I mention this because I encounter lots of folks who just work for the paycheck...

I openly admit that I'm a creature of habit. Especially Monday through Friday. I tend to follow pretty similar patterns from day to day, and doing one thing differently can mess it all up.
