Guess What I Paid For This

These days we're all trying to save money on trips. I'm heading out on vacation next month; I'll be saving by staying with a friend who has also generously offered to let me use his family's second vehicle as well.

There is no other way to describe this story besides "amazing". I wasn't even sure how to categorize this one; is it a sale story for the "Guess What I Paid for This" section? Is it a message from beyond, more appropriate for "Ocean County Paranormal"? Wherever it belongs, I'll let you decide.

It can be a lot of fun doing projects around the house on your own. It can also be really frustrating, as  I recently discovered.

Just last week we were talking about the joys of leftover (and deeply discounted) Easter Candy. I admit that I did partake in some goodies on sale, but now I'm stuck with a problem.

Over the last six months it's been hardcore candy season. First there's Halloween, then a while later Valentine's Day, and we just had Easter pass. The store shelves are stocked with all sorts of goodies, but if you ask me, it's the day after that's even better, when they try to get rid of the leftovers.

We've all had it happen before - you're hanging out at the Ocean County Mall, see something you really like (but probably don't really need), and you succumb to the impulse buy. But then you don't get too far down Hooper Ave before that impulse buy turns into buyer's remorse. What do you do?

I love gift cards, I really do. I think an Amazon gift card or a Target gift card are the perfect things to give that person who is difficult to shop for. The weekend rolls around and you want to take the family to the movies. For a family of 4, it's already going to cost you about $40 just to get in, but then of course you have to buy some snacks. During these tough economic times, and with gas pushing closer and closer to $4 here in NJ, we're all looking for ways to save money. One way is to cut down on food costs. So the question today is, how do you do lunch during the workday?
