As the heart of the holiday shopping season is about to rear its head with some stores pushing their Black Friday hours all the way into Thanksgiving Day, there are a number of national retailers with locations in Ocean County who have vowed to stay shuttered on Thanksgiving to allow their employees to spend the day with family.

It's still hard for me to believe as I type this, but you can't argue with the calendar - Thanksgiving is now less than two weeks away! So with a dozen days left to go as of this writing, a lot of people are putting the final touches on their holiday plans.

'Tis the season! Yes, it is the holiday season, but along with that we're also continuing a WOBM tradition - Christmas Cash is back!

Even though it feels like the middle of June, as we all know it is the middle of October. It's right about now that we should be seeing the annual splash of color across Ocean County.

One of the best traditions of the season is coming to Seaside Heights next weekend - Oktoberfest!

You may have seen the warning signs on the Garden State Parkway in recent weeks, alerting drivers that deer season is here. Especially here in Ocean County, where the Pine Barrens cover a vast portion of our area, driving at night can become dangerous in the fall.

This past weekend I took a road trip to partake in one of my favorite parts of fall - apple picking. And I brought home one of the few treats that I truly can't resist, a box of apple cider donuts.

By definition it gets cooler in the fall. But over the past few days it seems like it just suddenly happened here in Ocean County, rather than gradually transitioning.

Halloween is still 3 1/2 weeks away. Thanksgiving is 7 weeks away, and Christmas is still 81 days from the time that I'm writing this. But that hasn't stopped the Christmas shopping displays from showing up across the shore.
