As the first storm of 2015 dumped half a foot of snow or more in most areas of Ocean County, ironically enough most of us are feeling relief. Relief that it wasn't that two feet or more that it could have been. But wet roads throughout the area are still concerns for travel throughout the county.

As I'm writing this at about 5pm, Ocean County's roads are a slushy mess. While the worst of the storm is yet to come, travel is already becoming dangerous.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most terrifying videos from this past weekend's freezing rain in The Garden State. The NJ Turnpike was a skating rink of everything from fender benders to major crashes. We got a little taste of winter weather this week, and with it we also got some frustrating commutes, with snow and ice blowing off of cars making for a dangerous drive.

Nobody likes getting into a car accident. But I feel like, these days, people are just itching to be angry right off the bat. Sometimes an accident is just that - an accident.

Another first for the Garden State: Census figures show New Jerseyans have the longest average one-way commute to work in the nation.

As we get closer to the holiday season, the holiday shopping season will really ramp up. And you know what that means - the inevitable parking spot wars at the local malls and shopping centers. While some people can get pretty worked up about getting the perfect parking place swiped from them, this driver clearly took things a bit too far (to say the least). Watch for yourself:

Most of us can easily remember times that gas prices were barely above a dollar. In the last few years, however, it's gotten more common to see the numbers sneaking ever closer (and sometimes above) to the $4 a gallon mark. Well you may have noticed in the last few days, that the "3" has been replaced with a "2" at a lot of Ocean County gas stations.
