The younger generation only knows Dick Clark as the guy who hosted New Year’s Rockin’ Eve which after he suffered a stroke several years ago was turned over to Ryan Seacrest with Clark appearing in a somewhat limited role. However I and I’m sure many of you will always associate him with American Bandstand, the music variety show that ran on ABC from 1957-87.
I don't think that there is anyone in the entertainment industry who hasn't been impacted by Dick Clark. As you probably know by now, the legendary broadcaster and producer died earlier today at the age of 82.
Dick Clark died this afternoon (April 18) at the age of 82. His friend and protégé Ryan Seacrest issued a short but emotional statement about Clark’s passing. The entertainer died of a massive heart attack in Los Angeles.
