A dozen haircut salons at the shore are donating proceeds to the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund.

The cut-a-thon is the brainchild of Christina Messano, 22, a full-time collegian and Real Jersey Girl leader who earns a part-time living at The Cutting Crew in Sea Girt.

Each salon in the effort is turning over 10 percent of the cost of each cut to the organization headed by New Jersey's First Lady, Mary Pat Christie.
