The lawsuit to stop the annual hunting of black bears in New Jersey ends at the top. The New Jersey Supreme Court today denied the action, but advocates say they're not finished.

The Animal Protection League of New Jersey and the Bear Education and Resource Group brought the action after officials in the Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife deemed an annual hunt necessary to contain the bear population

Well, it's the second day of black bear hunting in New Jersey. Yesterday the first hunters were out in foggy weather and all in order to bag the first bear of the "season". Townsquare reporter Stacy Proebstle was out with the hunters braving the cold foggy weather and managed to snap some impressive pictures of the animals.
