Terminal C at Newark Liberty Airport has reopened following the discovery of a suspicious, unattended package on Wednesday morning.

NBC 4 New York reports a police dog was brought in shortly after the discovery of the package at about 9:45 a.m. in the area that houses Trans Air. The dog's reaction indicated the package was suspicious.

The terminal was reopened around 11:30 a.m. after police determined the package was
"safe" and contained no explosives according to PIX 11.

All flights were being held from landing at the airport until 11:45 a.m. according to FlightAware.com, as police and other law enforcement converged on the airport. With the all clear being given flight operations have returned to normal. NJ Transit bus service has also resumed a normal schedule.

Video of the area in front of the terminal showed police cars parked out front and passengers on the sidewalk in front of the lower level baggage area.

Terminal C is home to United Airlines at the airport.
