Suspects in Toms River mom-son beating indicted
The Beachwood teens accused of pummeling a Toms River 18-year-old and his mother during an alcohol-fueled melee last July face the prospect of either trial or guilty pleas for aggravated assault.
Chad Andresen and John Shevlino, both 18, were indicted by an Ocean County grand jury last week, according to the Asbury Park Press, which identified the victims as James McGrath and Lori Cairns.
Andresen allegedly knocked McGrath unconscious with a blow to the back of his head. Shevlino is accused of throwing Cairns to the ground when she tried to break it up, kicking face and causing a broken jaw and lacerations.
