Police say that at least two of the five bore handguns at the break-in on Tower Hill Drive around 2:00 AM today. A 21-year-old man inside was pistol-whipped on the head and a 20-year-old woman was pepper-sprayed and threatened, according to investigators.

Authorities say that they took a small safe containing cash and documents, a wristwatch belonging to the woman and two cell phones. The victims say that after the thieves left, they followed them to gather descriptions, stopping at Branch Avenue when it is believed that one of the suspects fired a shot at their car.

The suspects are described as black men in their 20s, in a white Ford Explorer. The victims submitted a license plate number. Police say that Keansburg cops later stopped a vehicle matching the description with corresponding tags about two hours later, only to find a woman behind the wheel and no one else inside.

Anyone who may have information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects can reach Red Bank Police Sergeant Michael Frazee at 732-530-2700.
