Suspected Fugitive Snared in Sunrise Drug Raid in Ocean Township

Wake up. Hands up.

Four men in a house in Monmouth's Ocean Township are greeted by the sunrise, a search warrant, and a slew of drug charges. One is believed to be a fugitive from the law.

Police say the March 14 arrests followed a month-long investigation of activity at the Elberon Boulevard dwelling.

At 6:30 AM, supported by a warrant and a K-9 team, police said they uncovered marijuana, scales, drug-related items, prescription meds and packaging materials.

Shawn Polland, 28, Damond Polland, 27, and Andre Rivero, 26, were charged with unprescribed possession of a prescription legend drug. Shawn Polland was charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Shawn Polland, Rivero, and Brendan Bridges, 29, were charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. Rivero and Bridges were charged with possession with intent to distribute.

All four were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Damond Polland was also charged with failing to license a dog.

Rivero is the subject of an arrest warrant issued in Delaware, police said. Rivero and Bridges were remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold, with bail on the drug counts set at $5,000. Rivero's bail related to the fugitive warrant was set at $50,000.
