Brick Township Police arrested two men on drug-related charges Thursday after members of the Department's Selective Enforcement Team observed them allegedly making a transaction in the area of Herbertsville and Millbrook Roads.

31-year-old Derek Brian of Howell admitted buying $50 worth of heroin after police pulled stopped his vehicle near Herbertsville Road and Maple Avenue, according to Brick Police Captain Vincent Pacitti.

25-year-old Tyshawn Morris of Brick was stopped by police in the area of Sawmill Road. He had crack cocaine, marijuana and more than $1,000 in cash, Pacitti said in a news release.

Brian was charged with Possession of Heroin and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Paraphernalia and released on a summons.

Morris was charged with Distribution of Heroin, Distribution of Heroin Within 1000 Feet of a School Zone, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.

Morris was being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River after being unable to post $85,000 bail, according to Pacitti.
