The Asbury Park 26-year-old under suspicion since the near-fatal shooting of a victim on a Neptune Township street nearly four years ago has pleaded guilty to attempted murder.

According to information from acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Grammiccioni, Felix A. Negron will be recommended for 12-year prison sentence and be required to serve at least 85 percent of the time before parole consideraiton begins, under New Jersey's No Early Release Act (NERA). His sentencing is scheduled for March 24.

Bonnie Ivery, 29, was found in front of a Monroe Avenue house on August 27, 2010 with an abdominal bullet wound. Ivery survived and was discharged a few days later from Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

According to investigators, several eyewitnesses identified Negron as the gunman. He was arrested the following day.
