Suspect Identified in Stolen Debit Card Probe

Brick Township Police credit the public with helping them identify a suspect using a stolen debit card. Police said numerous tips led them to 34-year-old Mike Mathioudakis of Toms River in less than 24-hours after releasing his image on social media.

Mathioudakis was arrested and charged today, Tuesday, December 9th, with the unauthorized use of a debit card. He was processed and released on a criminal summons with a pending court date, according to the department's press release. Additional charges are also expected pending a review by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

"Cases like this emphasize the importance of the police/citizen relationship, and the Brick Township Police Department would like to thank everyone who assisted in this investigation," said Public Information Officer Sergeant Henry Drew.
