Great time last night at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Toms River! Thanks to the staff there for making our visit a great one ...as always. The Ocean Monmouth Health Alliance , Headed by our friend Deb Levinson, Hosted the "Surviving The Cancer Challenge" a night for cancer victims, survivors and caregivers to get information, network and share stories and experiences. It is inspiring to see the brave listeners who were there and how they have not let cancer beat them. The night consisted of two areas of conversation....diet and stress. Our first speaker was Veronica Gajda a clinical dietician at Community Medical Center. Ms Gajda talked about diet and how it affects the cancer patient and fielding questions from listeners. Our second speaker was Emergency RN Jaime Pitner from Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin .... Who also teaches holistic health and hypnosis. Mr Pitner discussed how to relieve stress thru hypnosis. Thanks to the Ocean County Health Department for helping out and Soroptimist International.of Toms River for all their assistance too :) It is always a pleasure for Sue and I to be a part of this night and look forward to being there next year as we "Survive The Cancer Challenge" .... together!
