The Christmas season is supposed to be a time of joy, but for a Brick Memorial High School teacher and her family, it turned into a terrifying medical mystery.

According to the GoFundMe campaign that has been started to help Brick Memorial teacher Margaret Mussel, she "...found her speech inexplicably slurred" after the holiday and was taken to the hospital by her husband, Justin.

After arriving at the hospital and suffering a series of seizures that impacted her speech and movement, doctors discovered what the campaign describes as, "four masses in her brain."

Since the diagnosis of the rare condition, Justin has been, "steadfastly searching to find innovative treatments and procedures".

According to Brick Patch, Margaret has been an Italian teacher at Brick Memorial for over a decade.

The article also recounts an amazing story when, in 2017, Margaret and Justin found Margaret's lost engagement ring in Italy.

A ring that had been lost 9 years earlier in the exact same spot.

So, the Mussel family is one that has encountered miracles in the past, and now they're hoping for another as the community rallies around Margaret on her quest to beat the mysterious illness.

So far, the GoFundMe campaign has soared past its goal of $10,000, already raising over $15,000 in only 4 days.
