Several hundred mourners filled the Old Bridge Funeral Home for the funeral of Bryan Breen, one of the victims of the Old Bridge supermarket shooting.

Surrounded by posters, video and remembrances of the 24 year old, those gathered found some comfort in words offered by a chaplin during the brief service.  Breen’s best friend Will Gadomski said Breen was “a best friend to anyone who needed a best friend, but most important, he was our best friend,” according to the Star Ledger.

Friends remembered Breen at a wake yesterday. “He really cared about people, very loyal, honest person,” a friend told WABC TV. Another described him as “vibrant, joyful..loved his mom & dad.”

Another friend, author Kurt Drayton, told the Star Ledger, “Right now, my mind is just like, rage. I’m just so mad that something like this would ever happen,” Drayton said, adding that Breen “had a lot of faith in people.”

Cristina LoBrutto will be laid to rest on Thursday at St. Ambrose Church in Old Bridge at 10AM. Visiting hours are Wednesday night from 7PM-9PM at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home in Old Bridge.
