Summer is here at the Jersey Shore, and that means everything from traffic to parking nightmares. How much does it cost to park in Seaside Heights? What does a parking ticket cost in Point Pleasant Beach? We have all of the details in our guide to parking at the Jersey Shore!

Seaside Park

Parking meters are enforced 24 hours daily from May 16 through September 15. The cost of parking will run you $1.50 per hour in Seaside Park, NJ.

Parking lot number 1 is the only parking lot equipped with pay stations that accept coins, bills and credit cards at the time. Lot #1 is located along the ocean between Farragut and Stockton Ave.

The parking meters in Seaside Park lots 2 and 3 only accept coins. So don't forget to bring exact change!

All parking lots in Seaside Park are closed between 2 AM and 6 AM (daily).

Seaside Heights

The big thing in Seaside Heights is that there are a LOT of private lots that offer parking. Of course, the cost of parking in those lots ranges from just few bucks an hour during the week to more than $50 for the afternoon during a holiday weekend. Buyer beware in those lots!

In Seaside Heights parking rates vary based on where you are parked so it is important to pay attention to all signs before you leave your car to start your day in the sun.

Parking spaces closest to the beach (and municipally owned and metered lots) have meters in effect 24 hours a day. The cost of parking in those spaces will run at a rate of $2 per hour.

These spaces are:

  • Ocean Terrace from Porter Avenue to Hiering Avenue
  • On all street ends from Ocean Terrace to the Boardwalk
  • On Grant Avenue between Ocean Terrace and the Boulevard
  • All municipally owned and metered lots in town.

Meters are in effect from 8:00 am until 4 pm in all other locations in Seaside Heights. The cost of parking in those areas will run 25 cents for every thirty minutes. The meters will accept a maximum time of 10 hours, so don't forget to feed the meter if you'll be there for a while.

Point Pleasant Beach

The meters in Point Pleasant Beach are in effect from March 1 through October 31. Parking meters at the Point Pleasant Beach train station are in effect year round.

Again, like Seaside Heights there are quite a few privately owned parking lots. The rates in those lots vary based on location and the time of day.

If you're parking in a space that uses a traditional parking meter, be sure to insert the exact amount of money required for the time you'll need. The machines do not give change.

In most of the municipally owned lot (and some streets), however, they have a "Pay and Display" parking system. Credit cards are accepted at those machines, but don't forget to display the parking slip in your dashboard!

Make sure you pay attention to signs in Point Pleasant Beach. The cost of a parking ticket will run you $48!
